THIS WAS A DREAM COME TRUE FOR VIPIN AND PAYAL MOHARIR (AND THEIR BUSINESS
PARTNERS). THE DREAM TO INTRODUCE CONTEMPORARY INDIAN CUISINE IN EUROPE
HAS BEEN INITIATED IN THE FORM OF THEIR UNIQUE RESTAURANT CONCEPT IN THE
NETHERLANDS. THIS APRIL WITH THE ADVENT OF SPRING, SOME SPICY EXOTICISM OF
FLAVORS CAME AS A FRESH RAY OF HOPE AND ASPIRATIONS. THEIR DREAM PROJECT
‘THE PEPPER TRAIL’ OPENED IN ROTTERDAM TO PAVE A NEW WAY FOR INDIAN CUISINE
IN THE NETHERLANDS.

The brand new restaurant presents the Unique
Indian FoodXperience, an exquisite experience of
contemporary Indian cuisine with authentic spices
delicately mixed to produce delightful Indian
dishes. At The Pepper Trail, every step from the
lounge to the restaurant promises to be a treat.
Starting with a selection of surprising Indian cocktails
and amuses, leading to specially fashioned
main dishes, the Unique Indian FoodXperience has
everything to excite you.

At restaurant The Pepper Trail,Chef de cuisine
Sanjay Bahl and his team are guaranteed to
surprise you. They are famous creators of delectable
and authentic masterful mixes, crafted in contemporary
art of Indian cuisine. They show their
amazing skills to prepare and serve you a unique
mix of Indian flavors and modern Indian food
culture. Get the unique sensory experience along
with a view to the kitchen and see the master
craftsmen create magic.The Chef presents the rich
diversity of traditional Indian culture in an exquisite
menu. Additional finesse is added with the
characteristic, inspiring ‘Pepper Touch’. Relying
on extensive knowledge and experience, he brings
the Indian cuisine to life with a range of superb
tasteful dishes. There is a special story behind each
dish. Embark on a journey filled with the refined
flavors and tantalizing fragrances of the Indian
cuisine. Be it the ‘Pepper Touch’ gin-tonic or the
Vennison galoutikabab, or the famous Gilori kabab
(Indian Paan with lamb masala), your taste buds
will tickle with pleasure.

 
WINE-SPICE
Payal paid special attention to the wine-spice
combinations. A team of experts offertheir guests a
selection of the best wines in the world that are
paired with the menu in a careful and balanced
manner. The sommelier is always looking for
original and adventurous combinations. The selection
of wines is guaranteed to provide the perfect
accompaniment to thealready perfected dishes.

The Pepper Trail restaurant is located at the heart
of Rotterdam: de Kruiskade. Guests have easy
access with public transport and parking around
the restaurant. The perfect place for a modern
Indian restaurant!

per person excluding drinks.

Q Tell us a bit about the concept behind
The Pepper Trail..
We dreamt for years: a new restaurant concept
where we present authentic Indian spices and fresh
herbs in a modern entourage. The Pepper Trail is a
Unique Indian FoodXperience in a metropolis
where everyone can experience the secrets of the
modern Indian cuisine. The team of chefs that
joined us believed in the same dream and designed
a menu based on a trail through India. The Pepper
trail was born. Then we started to work out the
design, atmosphere, selection of staff, location etc.

 
Q Why did you choose Rotterdam as the
location…??
Rotterdam is a multicultural city, which fits exactly
in our concept. The food culture is booming and
the Kruiskade is a rapidly developing trendy street.
Business, shopping, theatres and concerts can be
combined perfectly with special dining. I can also
lift a corner of the veil: we’ve seriously planned to
open more restaurants in other bustling cities in The
Netherlands/Europe.

 
Q What will The Pepper Trail offer which
the other established restaurants in The
Netherlands cannot? How is the restaurant
unique?
More than 40 main dishes are uniquely combined
with the best worldwide wines. This excellent
wine-spice-combination has been created through
years and years of experience. The flavors of
Indian cuisine & authentic and ‘honest’ and they
are paired by experts with wines from wineries
around the globe. Apart from that, you will experience
subtle spices, authentic curries, pure
ingredients in our food.

 
Q What would be the primary attraction for
The Pepper Trail?
It’s the wholesome experience actually. The
ambiance, colors, lighting, music and many such
details are well thought of and create a unique
blend for the guests. I told you about the perfect
wine-spice combinations you will definitely not
find in any other Indian restaurant. Most importantly
our Chef is proud to preserve the Indian
heritage simmered with his magic ‘Pepper Touch’.

 
Q Tell us about your exclusivities…
We offer a Trail menu that allows our guests to taste
a wide range of Indian specialties. And what do you
think about Quail & Chicken Tikka Chat or the
Pepper Cream Chicken as a starter? Our main
dishes have names like Gosht Roganjosh and Gilori
Kebab. In our tasting period, our Chef composed
the most delicious deserts such as Saffraan-Peper
Zarda and Shufta. These are timeless melodies of
Indian cuisine that are being served to our guests
(who have actually never ever tasted such subtlety
in the normally available restaurant Indian cuisine).
